The Sawtooth Square block uses 2 fabrics (background and accent) with squares and half square triangle units. We're going to use half square triangle rulers to make the units so all strips can be cut at 2½ inch strips.
Fabrics
Background Fabric: Cut 1 strip 2½ inches wide. Subcut into 1 square and 6 half square triangles (see instructions below). |
Accent Fabric: Cut 1 strips 2½ inches wide. Subcut into 2 squares and 6 half square triangles (see instructions below). |
Instructions
Half Square Triangle instructions- Cut half square triangles from strips as listed in cutting instructions.
- Match half square triangles of each fabric right sides together and sew ¼ inch seam on long side of half square triangle; press toward darker fabric.
Make 6 half square triangle units. |
