Just the background and accent fabric needed for this block. Cut 4 background and 1 accent 2½ inch squares plus 2 strips 2½ wide by about 7 inches long from both background and accent fabrics.
- Place background and accent strips right sides together and cut 4 half square triangle pairs using a side right triangle ruler. Turn ruler upside down as needed.
- Sew a ¼ inch seam on long side of triangle pairs.
- Press seams towards darker fabric.
Finishing up - Sew squares and half square triangles together as shown, first rows, then columns, using a ¼ inch seam. Press seams to one side.
