Fabric instructions
- Background fabric: Cut 4 half square triangles using a half square triangle ruler from 3½ inch strips.
- Accent 1 fabric: Cut 4 quarter square triangles using a quarter square triangle ruler from 2 inch strips.
- Accent 2 fabric: Cut 1 square 3½ inches.
Economy block instructions
- Match 2 Accent 1 triangles to opposite sides of Accent 2 square, right sides together, with long end of triangle to square edge and centered.
- Sew triangles to square with a ¼ inch seam.
- Finger press toward triangles.
- Match remaining 2 Accent 1 triangles to the open sides of square, right sides together, with long end of triangle to square edge and centered.
- Sew triangles to square with a ¼ inch seam.
- Press toward triangles.
- Match 2 Background triangles to opposite sides of sewn unit, right sides together, with long end of triangle to unit edge and centered.
- Sew triangles to unit with a ¼ inch seam.
- Finger press toward triangles.
- Match remaining 2 triangles to the open sides of unit, right sides together, with long end of triangle to square edge and centered.
- Sew triangles to square with a ¼ inch seam.
- Press toward triangles.
