Cutting Instructions
Ground
A – (1) 3½” x 12½” rectangle
Grass
B – (1) 3¼” square
C – (1) 2¾” x 5” rectangle
D – (2) 2½” squares
E – (1) 2” square
F – (2) 2” x 2¾” rectangles
G – (1) 2” x 3½” rectangle
H – (1) 2” x 7¼” rectangle
I – (1) 2” x 12½” rectangle
J – (1) 1¾” square
K – (2) 1¼” x 2¾” rectangles
Watering Can
L – (1) 6 ½” square
M – (1) 3¼” square
N – (2) 2½” squares
O – (1) 1¾” square
P – (1) 1¼” x 2¾” rectangle
Q – (2) 1¼” x 2” rectangles

All seams are ¼ inch unless otherwise noted.

Half square triangles
1. Match 1 square of each fabric right sides together.
2. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on wrong side of lighter fabric. 
3. Sew ¼” seam on both sides of diagonal line. 
4. Cut units apart on drawn diagonal line. 
5. Press seam to one side. 
6. Makes 2 half square triangle units per fabric pair.
7. Make the following half-square triangles
Small-using J & O, square up to 1¼” make 2
Medium-using D & N, square up to 2” make 3
Large-using B & M, square up to 2¾” make 1

Finishing

  1. Build the handle. Sew a J/O to each end of  P, (be sure to follow the placement of J/O as in the diagram.) The background is to the outside. Then sew a Q to each end of F, next sew the two pieces together, add K to the top and the second F to the bottom. Handle done. Attach the handle to L.
  2. Next build the top by sewing N/D to H and then attach the top to L. (Remember to follow the placement, the background is to the outside.)
  3. Now it’s time to build the spout. First sew D/N to N/D, then add G to the bottom, and E to the top.(As shown in the diagram.)  Next add K to the top of B/M and C to the bottom, where M is the spout and B is the background. Sew these two pieces together.
  4. Attach the spout to the watering can. Finally sew I, the background to the top and A the ground to the bottom.
