Split Nine Patch block ideas

Use all sorts of fabrics for this scrappy version of a Split Nine Patch quilt. This will test your ability to keep to a very strict color palatte and/or color value. Do this quilt with 2½ squares, or jelly rolls, and add a 3 inch (finished) border and you have a great size for ABC quilts.
Make a sampler or orphan block quilt using the Split Nine Patch block as a background and layout for the blocks.
