Sampler Quilt 2011 - Week 46 - Arkansas Crossroads

The Arkansas Crossroads uses 4 fabrics of squares and half square triangles in a 2 by 2 square grid layout.



Fabric Instructions

Background: Cut 4 half square triangles from 2 inch strips using a half square triangle ruler.
Fabric 2: Cut 4 squares and 4 half square triangles from 2 inch strips using a half square triangle ruler.
Fabric 3: Cut 4 squares from 2 inch strips.
Fabric 4: Cut 4 squares from 2 inch strips.

Half Square Triangle Unit Instructions

  1. Match 1 strip of Background and Fabric 2 fabric right sides together.
  2. Using a side right triangle ruler, cut half square triangles. Move ruler upside down for next cut when necessary.
  3. Sew ¼ inch seam on long side of triangle pair.
  4. Press seam to one side.
Arkansas Crossroads Finishing Instructions

Layout each Arkansas Crossroads block units as shown and chain piece together first rows, then columns using a ¼ inch seam. Press seams to one side.
