Sampler Quilt 2011 - Week 35 - Nine on Point

The Nine on Point quilt block pattern uses 3 fabrics, background and 2 accent fabrics. When working with angles, it can be difficult to get exactly a 6" inch finished square. Check your work and square up to 6½ inches (including seams allowance) being sure to trim all sides equally as needed.

Fabric instructions

Background: Cut 2 squares 5¼ inches.
Accent 1: Cut 4 squares 1¼ inches.
Accent 2: Cut 5 squares 1¼ inches.

Nine Patch instructions

  • Layout Accent 1 & 2 pieces alternating in 3 rows across by 3 columns.
  • Chain piece column 2 squares to column 1 squares, right sides together and do not cut apart.
  • Chain piece column 3 squares to column 2 squares, right sides together and do not cut apart.
